Adolf E. Hubmann, 78, of Gulfport, Miss., died Nov. 10, 2008 in Gulfport. His parents, Rudolph Adolph Hubmann and Elizabeth R. Hubmann and a brother, Clifford Hubmann, preceded him in death. Hubmann leaves his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Ann Hubmann of Gulfport; his sons, Terry Wade Hubmann of Gulfport and David Ray Hubmann of Brandon, Miss.; his grandchildren, April Ann Lewis, Jennifer Ann Norman, William I. W. Hubmann, and David Wayne Hubmann; his great-grandchildren, Adian Lewis, Zachary Lewis, Charlee Claire Norman, and Leo Norman; a sister, Christine Marie Wray and her husband, Royce, of Benton and a brother, Walter Schrader, and his wife, Irene, of Alexander. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Gulfport. He retired after 17 years with the Small Business Administration where he was an economic development specialist. He was a past president of the Long Beach Kiwanis Club. An avid stamp collector, Hubmann was a member of the American Philatelic Society, American First Day Cover Society and the Plate Number Coil Collectors Club. Ammie born, Aug. 2, 1927 in Marvell to Maggie and Namon Braggs, died Oct. 31, 2008 at Helena Regional Medical Center. She confessed an everlasting hope in Jesus Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Marvell. After living in Chicago she moved to West Helena in 1959 where she became a member of True Vine Baptist Church. She sang in the mass choir until her health failed her. She enjoyed visiting the sick. She leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, Matthew (Alma) Braggs of Helena-West Helena and Jimmie Braggs of Chicago; three sisters, James Ola Gine of St. Louis, Lula Mae Braggs Smith of Chicago and Annie Mae (Owens) Young of St. Louis; a special cousin, Juanita Mitchell of Helena-West Helena; and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews and her church family at True Vine. Active pallbearers will be Larry Braggs, Theodore Braggs, Donnell Braggs, Melvin Lacey, Freddy Stevenson and Larry Gine. Funeral services for Annie L. Kirby, 62, affectionately known as “Ms. Ann,” of Helena-West Helena will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Oneida with the Rev. Jerome Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Oneida Community Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel. Kirby was born on June 10, 1946 to the late Ruthie Mae Willis and Daniel Sleigh. Her grandmother, Annie Williams-Jones, who preceded her in death, raised Ann. She confessed a hope in Christ at the early age of 12. In 1965, Annie Sleigh and Samuel Smith married. Ann and Sam moved to Chicago in 1966 and three sons were born to their union. She united in fellowship at Second Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in 1969. She was a faithful member for over 20 years. She sang in the mission choir and served as the pastor’s aide president. She worked for AT&T for 16 years as a telephone operator in Chicago. She worked at Wal-Mart in West Helena for seven years as a cashier and telephone operator and at the Phillips County Health Department for five years. Ann returned home to Arkansas in 1989. She reunited her fellowship with First Missionary Baptist Church in Oneida. She served as choir director, Sunday School teacher, pastor’s aide chairperson, served on program committees, as church announcer and was a master as a mistress of ceremony. She had a passion for singing for the Lord. Ann married Arthur Kirby on Nov. 3, 1993. Annie “Ann” Smith-Kirby entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008 at Helena Regional Medical Center in Helena. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Arthur Kirby of Helena; her sons, Frederick Allen Smith (Monique), Samuel Donte Smith (Cherry) and Randy Bernard Smith (Lisa) of Chicago; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Alma Roberts-Jones (Arlee) of Orlando, Fla.; aunts, Willie Mae Roberts of Toledo, Ohio, Eula Roberts of Oneida and a host of cousins, relatives and dear friends. He was a member of the Elaine Methodist Church and was a retired agriculture teacher in Elaine, a farmer and a member of the Future Farmers of America and a Gideon. He leaves his wife of 69 years, Mary Louise Roark of Hopkinsville; a son and daughter in law, Dr. Jon Roark and wife, Lisa of Hopkinsville; a daughter, Marilyn Peterson of Elaine; three grandchildren, J. FAYETTEVILLE -- Charles L. Tortorello Jr., 83, of Fayetteville died Nov. 8, 2008, at his home. He was born May 13, 1925, in Chicago to Charles and Vera Cercio Tortorello.He married Emily Lullo on May 4, 1943. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired as a battalion chief from the Chicago Fire Department after 26 years. He moved to Fayetteville in 1979, where he owned and operated Shady Lane Mobile Home Park. He enjoyed Dixieland music, playing clarinet and cooking.He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph M. Tortortello, in 2007.Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Emily Tortorello of the home; three children, Betty Rowe and husband Henry of Fayetteville, Charles J. Tortorello and wife Lisa of Chicago and Charlene Lopshire and husband Douglas of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fayetteville National Cemetery. SELIGMAN, Mo. — Charlotte Joan Walden, 80, of Seligman died Nov. 9, 2008, at her home. She was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Adair, Ill., to Leland C. Skiles Sr. and Hazel Hoke Skiles.She was an Army veteran and was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers in Rogers. She was a secretary for many different civil service communication offices, and had worked in the Division of Records for the Washington State Highway Patrol. She married Arlus "Wayne" Walden in 1953.Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Arlus "Wayne" Walden of Seligman; her son, Darrell Walden and wife Tammy of Camdenton, Mo.; two daughters, Debra Jean Walden Davis of Battlefield, Mo., and Julie JoAnn Walden Scott of Battlefield; her brother, Carroll Skiles of Astoria, Ill.; four grandchildren.Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at White Funeral Home in Cassville, Mo., with Ken West and Ben Loudermilk officiating. GRAVETTE — Clifford Crose, 77, of Gravette died Nov. 12, 2008, at Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette. He was born June 15, 1931, in Little River to Paul Orval and Thelma H. Lawson Crose.He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. ELKINS -- Deborah Lyn Camp, 37, of Elkins was called home to be with our Lord, Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at her home. She was born May 6, 1971, in Springdale to Lee Roy and Sharon Kilpatrick.She graduated valedictorian of her class in 1990 from Elkins High School. After graduating high school, she was employed for 14 years by Terra Studios in Durham. For the past seven years, she was employed by Chambers Bank in Elkins, where she made countless friends within the community. She was a member of Hazel Valley Community Church.Deborah possessed a strong love for her family always putting everyone's needs before her own. She enjoyed all kinds of music, singing, dancing, reading, swimming, fishing and playing games with her family. She was especially fond of the holidays when she could decorate her yard and home in celebration. She was well-known by all for singing Jingle Bells in the middle of July in anticipation.On Feb. 29, 1996, she married Billy Wyman Camp in Elkins. On April 19, 1997, she gave birth to her miracle baby, Derik Wyman Camp. Her second miracle, Ethan Garrett Camp was born June 5, 1998. Starks accepted the call to pastor the Walnut Grove, M.B. Church in Marvell, First St. Mark M.B. Church in Marvell and was the pastor of New Garden Church in Coldwater at the time of his death. SPRING HILL--Howard Turner Garner, 90, of Spring Hill, died Monday, November 10, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born in Spring Hill on September 15, 1918, to Walter and Rosa Turner Garner. He worked in a Civilian Conservation Camp in Eli, Nevada; worked for the Foley Pottery Shop in Spring Hill; worked for McDowell Cotton Gin in Spring Hill; Southwest Proving Grounds in Hope, and then Bruner Ivory Handle Mill, where he retired as foreman after 30 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He will long be remembered for his purple hull peas and his wonderful tomatoes. He loved to care for his Martins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Ree Susie McDowell; his parents; by one brother, Hugh Garner and by three sisters, Merele Brown, Swan Smith, and Mildred Clark.

Mr. Foster was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and former president of the Optimist Club. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Sybil G. Foster, a brother, Leroy and his wife Doreene Foster, a sister, Marolyn Ruth Beall and a host of friends and loved ones.
